Steve Coogan Fanclub – The Trip (2011)

I can’t say that I actually follow Steve through every role he portrays on the silver screen…BUT he always seems to germinate a specific realm of comedy that harvest my interest in his work. I think it was Jim Jarmusch’s film Coffee and Cigarettes that spawned my interest in the british actor. Hamlet 2 began the seasonal following throughout the many roles of the Coogan which has lead to me into the notion of the Steve Coogan Fanclub.
Take a peak at his new film…

Directed by: Casey Affleck
I’m Still Here is a film that pulls you into the “true reality of celebrity” that has been the biggest hoax since Orson Welles’ radio broadcast of an alien invasion “The War of the Worlds” on October 30th, 1938.
I can remember seeing Joaquin Pheonix on Letterman and thinking with the rest of the world “my god this guy has stepped out of reality”. When really he was creating the type of reality the world enjoys watching, except when Joaquin does something – he jumps in deep. It’s crazy to think about the film now that it has been announced as a mock on TV reality shows and all the celebrities that were involved in the “hoax”. Ben Stiller was awesome – P. Diddy was kinda scary! I really hope everybody gives this film a chance and can grasp the ideas the that are intertwined within this film. Casey Affleck surprisingly masterminded a beautifully paced sequence of chaos and destruction.
Did anyone who saw the film get or felt like the film’s final shots were representing Joaquin being baptists?
